Kelpie is a combination of dark shades of reds and natural (undyed) black alpaca fibre. Imagine streaks of dark blue and black. This yarn is a fulled single spun in a style to embrace the nuances of handspun yarn. Each skein is unique. The fibre used in this yarn is a soft Australian alpaca and is spun in our family run fibre mill, Sunshine Coast, Australia.
The alpaca fibre is sourced from alpaca farms along the Eastern seaboard of Australia. The fibre is dyed in the fleece and then processed and spun to create interesting colourways.
Designed to be used in scarves, cowls and shawls this bulky weight yarn is quick to knit or crochet. Some colours in the range have been designed to create spectacular visual effects when knitted and others have gradual changes.
